From all the releases this week, our pick would be Manikandan-starrer Lover. The film, which hosts a young generation of actors, is directed by a debutant filmmaker. The film carefully portrays the sense and sensibilities of today's generation and has much relatable capacity to the audience. The film does not glorify toxic masculinity and redefines what love means, at times when films have grown to glorify misogyny and patriarchy. Lover is packed with nuanced performances and clean screenplay.
