BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Residents of East Baton Rouge Parish can safely dispose of any hazardous household materials during a drop-off day.
The event will take place on Saturday, March 2, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the LSU Touchdown Village on S. Quad Drive in Baton Rouge.
Items that will be accepted include paints, petroleum-based items, cleaners, batteries, and poisons. Officials said that the items require special care when you dispose of them. Tossing the items in the trash or flushing them down the drain can cause environmental hazards like the contamination of groundwater.
Waste that is generated by a business will not be accepted during the event.
